XPost: sci.med.diseases.lyme, alt.support.child-protective-services,       alt.support.autism       From: bob@somewhere               The point of your post should be that        money currently being spent on 'homeland security protections' are       largely a myth. Most are nothing more than feel good measures inspired by       power and control excercised by the federal govenment through 'patriate       act', or political in nature.              Your enlightenment is not profound. Any self-respecting terrorist is       probably laughing at the futile efforts of our government to protect it's       citizens... which is a joke, too.              Can you imagine if car-bombs and the like were exploding at the various       shopping malls across our country. The entire U.S. Military in Iran are       helpless... and rather enept as well... to stop the terror in even that       small country.              Because of our current national policy we have a lot more to worry about       than some imagined, yet very real possibility, of some kinda biological       warefare.              I must admit I am somewhat mystified that we have not had a repeat of some       kinda 9-11 but it must also be understood 'they' are not trying to kill us       off. The intent is distroy our economical position.              I'm sure most people will live to a ripe old age... but if the 'terrorist'       have their way, we will some day be a broken and bankrupt country.              You might also notice the government is making an effort to protect what       they deem vital economical interests such as the airlines and cartage... not       the people.              The toll on our country since 9-11, self-induced I might add, has already       seen a cut in services for lack of funding. As the cost of this 'war'       escalates, as it surely will, more services will be cut... such as CPS,       mental health, etc. Already non-violent prisioners in california and other       states are being released early and there has been a call by politicians to       implement other programs in lieu of jail for minor offenders. These are       suble realities now taking place in our faltering economy. The cost of war       is extreme and was not anticipated.              We cannot stop what Bush started but we will live forever with the effect as       will future generations.              Yeh, and when it starts everyone will be praying in schools.. matters such       as that will become rather inconsequental.              For the most part we live in oblivian and denial... but there is nothing       else to do except wait and see.              bobb              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
