XPost: sci.med.diseases.lyme, alt.support.autism, alt.support.ch       ld-protective-services       From: bob@somewhere               A lot of good training does. They show up for coffee and donuts and pass       the course. Oh, the idiots of which we speak, maybe they were 'socially       promoted' and because we no longer permit failure (bad for self-esteem)       they were sent out to capture bad guys anyway.              Yeh, if the public becomes aware of the abuses they'll review policy after       an 'unfortunate' incident. Policy review does not take place through rose       colored glasses.              Hahaha... you do have a point. Remember the poor guy sitting in his car       after a 'high speed' chase. They fired 125 shots... I repeat.. 125 shots       and the guy was hit but four (4) times at as distance of not much more than       a single car length as evidence by the photos. Yeh.. those guys are       dangerous. Until they are properly trained when to use lethal force and how       to use a dangerous weapon in a so very public area, the should be assigned       crossing guard duties. Since many have been around for a long time...       perhaps they are considered slow learners and just need more practice... or       were socially promoted from the police academy.              Now, if they received the same training using tazers... hmmm.              But of course, you admit the problem isn't the tool.. but the hiring and       training. Isn't that what I said?              Actually, Kane. I am trying to protect you. You see, if the shoot at me..       well, I'm relatively safe. It's you they will certainly hit.              Only partially true. Their detectives are armed... but I shouldn't have       tossed that in.. it really did confuse the issue.              It was in our country that jail time for burglary was extended to equal that       of robbery. You have to go back to the late 60's and follow history.              While you see Gacy in a different light, that as portrayed by the media       instead of criminal experts, I doubt that you will be able to understand       that our criminal justice system is also contributing to the death of       abducted children... and it will only become worse. In fact, within the       last few days there was some guy on tv most molestors have not, and do not,       kill their victims but they are now doing so to evade the lengthy jail       sentences... an effort to conceal identification and accusation. He       pointed to the dramatic rise in child deaths recently. He took a lot of heat       from others on the show.. but that was to be expected. It's not policially       correct to show common sense.              The are but a very few 'thrill' killers and Gacy was not one of them.              bobb              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
