Actually, for both our sakes, I hope we both do. Usenet
is a nasty addiction we can both do without. You have
young JB to consider while I have my grandson to look
after for quite a bit of each week. Once JB has grown up
and buggered off you'll appreciate having a kid around the
place again, especially if you're used to having four of them.

Losing an average of 10lbs a month for six months is easy
if you're determined enough and can stick by a carefully
controlled regime of exercise and diet. Packing up the fags
was a nightmare, but I reckon that experience has helped
me strengthen my resolve to do almost anything I want now.

Needle away, Jon, because despite what you might think
and the pain I still have to endure, I'm living a comfortable
and enjoyable life. Who knows - another op might sort it
out if I decide to go ahead with my consultant's advice,
and then, well, I'll be equipped for anything life can throw
   at me once I'm pain-free.
