From: tom3048306@webtv.net               So you think that's bunk?        I got a diagnosis in 1983 from the former Commissioner of Indiana's       Department of Mental Health       Dr. William R. Murray. This was a man returned to private practice after       having been the Governor's top man in the field in the entire state of       Indiana.        My parents took me to his office where I was confined by a hospital       security guard from the Community Hospital East Campus of Indianapolis       from across the street.I was confined in the professional building for       hours in a meeting room without access to water or toilet. I was       questioned periodically during this time.        I told all concerned that I had stopped using marijuana altogether a       few days earlier. I had been smoking large,"Rastafarian", quantities of       highly potent marijuana every day for many years.       I was in state of rebound from this sudden absence of the drug bearing       herb.       This was at least the third time my manifestation of this phenomena had       come to light under the scrutiny of mental health professionals.I had       also experienced it apart from the observation of concerned individuals.        In all previous instances I had been forthright and honest about my       activities leading up to my presentations.        Can you guess what the guy at the top of the heap had to say       regarding this?       I will never forget it. I was flabbergasted!       While booking me a bed inpatient he spoke the words " Chronic Acute       Undifferentiated Schizophrenia"               Now really folks...What the hell is chronic acuteness?        Why would the diagnosis be schizophrenia?               The patient himself repeatedly insisted that there is a direct       association between the problem and an undeniably declared abrupt       decrease in the bioavailabiity of the metabolical biochemicals derivable       from ingesting large amounts (between 1500 and 7000mg of plant material       a day) of highly sought after sinsemilla marijuana?              regular posters posting in good faith to alt.flame.psychiatry are       welcome to contact me at this e-mail address. This e-mail address should       be considered opted out of all marketing / sales lists not associated       with anti-psychiatry.              PatientX              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
