   Whether there's specific evidence or not this is a real thing. I volunteered   
   for a no-kill adoption and they went as far as to never adopt cats around   
   Halloween regardless of their color   
      
   In fact, it's a difficult process to adopt anyway since they would do an audit   
   of the household and character of the prospective person looking to adopt   
   (they go as far as to even visiting your home)
