   Wow, they're all gone.   
      
   I just had a look at/for all of the old goto sites.   
      
   * snopes.com, as you observed, is nothing like what it used to be.   
   * Likewise, truthorfiction.com, while it's still there, hasn't been updated   
   lately.   
   * urbanlegends.about.com no longer exists, and typing in the URL takes you to   
   a fluff page.   
   * The grand old tafkac.org ("The Archive Formerly Known as Cathouse") is no   
   more. The URL has been taken over by what looks like a business operating   
   under the dot-org rubric instead of dot-com.   
   * urbanlegends.com is a page selling stuff.   
   * urbanlegends.org takes you to Arthur Goldstuck's UL blog, and it hasn't been   
   updated since 2012.   
      
   All the sparkling edifices of the 1990s and 2000s are crumbling to dust.
