   A team from the University of Southampton has succesfully   
   stored the full human genome on a crystal, and say it could   
   provide a blueprint to bring humanity back from extinction.   
      
   The crystal is now being stored in the Memory of Mankind   
   archive – a special time capsule within a salt cave in   
   Hallstatt, Austria.

      Ummmmmm ... note that cell biology is fully INTEGRATED.   
      It's not JUST the DNA, but also the existing cell membranes   
      and everything else. It's a fully connected SYSTEM and   
      you don't have it all until you have it ALL. The membranes,   
      organelles and all are about 50% carried over during cell   
      mitosis.
