   How important is Catholicism in South Africa? I know, that the colonists came   
   from Netherlands and Great Britain. Many of them were Protestants. According   
   to the book "The World in Figures" in 1970 among the population of South   
   Africa was 61% Christians,    
   13% members of Bantu churches, 2% Hindus, 1% Moslems and 1 % Jews. But it does   
   not say, how many of the Christians were Catholics.
