   There are various sources that inform job-counting. Some stats are   
   available soon after the end of the month, some take more time but add   
   accuracy.   
      
   There are a lot of statistics -- govt and non -- that revise data for   
   previous months in light of new info.  Inflation, GDP, retail sales,   
   retail and wholesale inventories, Unemployment insurance claims, ADP   
   jobs data, Purchasing Manager data, house prices, etc. They are all   
   routinely revised as more data works its way through.   
      
   The big correction you mentioned that was put out in Aug 2024 IIRC, came   
   about because new payroll tax information from the IRS diverged from   
   other statistics they were using. My take was that it was due to people   
   working under the table, mainly illegals, and they didn't mean to count   
   those.   
      
   Herr Ubertrumpen has a talent for frothing up the ignoratti who   
   constitute his base. The predictable hysteria is all about routine   
   refinements to statistics that they didn't even know existed.
