   He did that, but that's not the crime for which he was convicted. He was   
   convicted of cooking his books to try to hide what he did. Paying hush money is   
   not a crime per se. Cooking the books to conceal campaign finance violations is   
   a crime.

   If that case had gone to trial, he would have been convicted. Even more certain   
   is that he would have been convicted of obstructing the recovery of the

   overturned. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.
