WASHINGTON, DC: Questions are mounting over President Donald Trump’s
absence from the public eye, with speculation surging online about his
   whereabouts and health.

Anonymous posts on X (formerly Twitter) have suggested Trump has gone
“missing,” pointing out that the White House weekend schedule lists no
   major public events.

journalists after signing executive orders in the Oval Office at the White
House on August 25, 2025 in Washington, DC. Furthering his federal
takeover of the capital city’s law enforcement, Trump signed orders ending
cashless bail in the District of Columbia, mandating prosecution for
people who desecrate the American flag -- including by burning it -- and
other orders. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) President Donald

   more than 24 hours

Donald Trump’s schedule for August 30 and 31 contains no listed events,
and multiple social media users have flagged that the 79-year-old
president has not been seen in more than 24 hours.

Adding to the chatter, the president has not posted on Truth Social in
over a day, his last activity being a repost of conservative commentator
   Mark Levin.

“Donald Trump has not been seen in over 24 hours and has no public
appearances scheduled for the next two days. What is going on?” one post
read. Another user remarked, “Trump has no public events scheduled all
weekend. Don’t believe he was seen today either.”

While the absence could simply reflect the president’s private downtime,
critics and political opponents have seized the moment to question his
   health and fitness for office.

Another questioned, "Trump has no labor day event after hyping it up?"

The phrase “Trump is dead” began trending on X after a string of
unverified posts claimed the POTUS was ill or worse.

Some users even shared memes referencing Trump’s age and weight, while
others dismissed the speculation outright as baseless. "Trump could be
under a health evaluation or he’s going to Mar Lago for Labor Day to
   work," one user wrote.

JD Vance's remark and 'The Simpsons' prediction add fuel to speculation

The speculation intensified after Vice President JD Vance was asked about
political attacks against Donald Trump, and he said to USA Today, “It
would be a terrible tragedy if something were to happen to him.”

JUST IN—VP JD Vance said he is prepared to step in if “a terrible
tragedy” were to befall Trump, while emphasizing that Trump is “in
incredibly good health” and brimming with “incredible energy.”

Critics pounced on the wording, while supporters argued it was simply a
defense of Trump against ongoing legal and political challenges.

Adding a surreal twist, some users revived a long-running internet meme
claiming 'The Simpsons' “predicted” Trump’s death. Screenshots from
apparent episodes circulated alongside the trending hashtag, though no
such episodes actually exist; the images were likely fabricated.
