Actually, I'm pointing to what looks like a high school yearbook picture of
a young girl, actually a couple of years younger than my own daughters. It
may be the Sun, but a picture is a picture. I don't doubt that the photo
is, in fact, Alex Polier. Looks like a nice kid and, whatever the truth in
this rumor, her reputation has been trashed. I went googling for her
picture because I figured she was going to be a "knockout". What I found
was someone who looked more like one of my own daughters. I read a little
of a couple of her old AP articles and thought she showed some journalistic
   talent.

Look, I have no doubt that the Bush crowd can and will lie to discredit any
candidate the Democrats put forward, but if there is some REAL issue that
they can seize on, they will jump on it. This may or may not be such an
issue. I just don't think we ought the be playing the same denial games
that we've been watching the right-wingers engage in over Bush's National
Guard service and other lies he's been caught in. If we are going to play
"gotcha", and we are, we had better have a bulletproof candidate. I've
known many good men who pursued extramarital affairs. If statistics are to
be believed, 45% of the male population, according to CNN. I would bet my
last buck that the numbers are significantly higher for the wealthy and
powerful. And, as Arnold the Barbarian once said, "Where there is smoke,
   there is fire."

My point is that it would be best to look in to this BEFORE the primary
season is over. Turn the press loose. If this turns out to be true, and my
intuition says that it probably is, then we have to ask if it is a single
incident or part of a pattern of behavior. If it is true but an isolated
instance, Kerry needs to "fess up" and get it out of the way. If it is part
of a pattern, we've got a problem on our hands that can only be solved by
   advancing a different candidate.

Bush may have an advantage in the adultery department. I can personally
testify that any middle aged man who goes to bed at 10:00 every night isn't
getting any extra nookie. There is a lot we can do with his sordid past,
but I think most of us believe that George has probably gotten very little
"action" lately, even on the home front. We've seen how wild the right can
go when they've gotten their teeth into a sex scandal, so lets try not to
   hand them one.
