I don't "hate" all the people who vote Democrat. Most of them are merely
lazy voters and absorb what the hear from the media - the propaganda arm of
the Democrat Party. If we set the system up so that they voted issues
instead of candidates, and required they actually pay for what they vote
for, I'm firmly convinced most of our policies in place would be those that
conservative Republicans would actively support or, at worst, could
   tolerate.

However, my feelings toward the left wing leadership of the Democrat Party
does border on hate. After all, their policies on the war on terrorism
would get a lot more of us killed. I hold their anti-military, especially
their radical anti-intelligence, foreign policy mentality of appeasement
that goes back at least 30 years (and is firmly embraced by Kerry) largely
(but not completely) responsible for the disaster of 9/11 (on our side, that
is; the terrorists, of course are ultimately responsible). Worse, they have
not learned. They still think we should be treating the war on terror as if
it were merely a criminal issue instead of war. On the economic side, the
left wants to take more and more of the fruits of our labor. And on the
culture side, the left has heartily embraced policies which were considered
   outright evil 50 years ago.

   were
   > not stupid.

I think you misread what I wrote. But I do wonder if the revolutionaries
hated the Tories... The wording of the Declaration is not exactly filled
with affection for King George. And today the left has far greater control
over our lives than King George ever had.

   > And, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but, it is the Republicans
   > who control all branches of government now. The left is imposing nothing
   on
   > you.

Bull. First of all, the hold of the Republicans is very tenuous. One
switch in the Senate and we are back to 50-50. And even now the
obstructionist left is making unprecedented use of the filibuster to protect
what has become the most powerful arm of government and the one still
controlled by the left - the judiciary. Second, much of the oppressive
burden of government is the result of laws passed long ago, and ones that
are impossible to change - Social Security and Medicare. These two programs
alone will soon account for 50% of federal spending, and then 2/3. Our
economy will simply not be able to sustain such burdens but the Democrats
obstruct any reform because they use those - and other social welfare
   programs - to buy votes.

   > Let me say it again, because it feels so good, you are an idiot.

Nope. Just someone who still cherishes liberty - something the left gave up
many decades ago (about the time they got into bed with the communists).
But maybe you are correct. Maybe thinking liberty can survive the leftists
   is idiotic.
