The Big Four, all on Bush.                     In all fairness to Bush, the seeds of the 2008 meltdown were sown long       before Bush. The ultimate blame falls on Saint Ronnie who began the       idiotic march of deregulation that set the stage for the overreach and       collapse. We took the traffic lights off of the corporate world and       guess what happened!              The biggest folly was the repeal of the Glass-Steagal act by Gramm-Leach       and signed by Clinton. This accelerated the collapse by allowing banks       to foolishly gamble with other peoples money and investments, especially       in the mortgage markets.              The sad thing is republicans to this day are resisting necessary       re-regulation such as Dodd-Frank. Unfortunately this is setting the       stage for the next collapse which will occur in a few years as the banks       and financial institutions have learned nothing and continue with their       shenanigans. We're screwed!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
