Well, many pagans view that as       an auspicious time for setting new intentions/beginning       new workings. And some societies and religions with       lunar calendars mark their new year not at dark moon       but at earliest waxing crescent, so onset of a new age       at early waxing crescent would be appropriate.              Also perhaps the early waxing crescent can be considered       to be like the second of a pair of birds (where the first       is the late waning crescent) such that I can call it       Seagull Moon, and Seagull is more important to me       than Crow, such that I even have said I take the name       Seagull (or Faoileán in Irish), rather than the Salmon       of my webpage (though when the waxing crescent is       a bit fatter it will be shaped like a salmon).              And of course there is the Silver Bough thumb which       I have discussed before and which is described near       the end of https://www.nfld.com//~dalton/celtic.html       (though there is a typo, “life” should be “lift”.)       Reference to that is appropriate since all eyes       are on Glasgow this week.              So I will proceed again, but won’t post updates, but       may post a summary of what I divine by perineum       click divination that I have accomplished before       I go to bed, which likely won’t be until about       4:30 a.m. here (0700 UTC/GMT, midnight in Vancouver).       And it is likely that I won’t get everything done       until tomorrow night, though it is true that the       calculations of updates have been done.              --       David Dalton dalton@nfld.com https://www.nfld.com/~dalton (home page)       https://www.nfld.com/~dalton/dtales.html Salmon on the Thorns (mystic page)       “‘You could lay down your head by a sweet river bed/But Sonny       always remembers what it was his Mama said” (Ron Hynes)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
