   What is beauty? They say it is in the eye of the perciever. Beauty is a   
    psychological tool used to establish authority. Men in positions of   
    authority have taken wives of a certain type since before Christ. The lower   
    class has then been able to recognize their rulers simply by sight. A   
    beautiful person has the ability to use charisma, appearance, and   
    manipulation to influence the world almost by magic simply because of   
    evolution. However magick has always been used as a tool by the lower   
    class. Witches have been said to have marks of the devil an or features   
    that make them "ugly". Magick, at least in modern times has been a tool of   
    persecution for the rich and powerful, and not as a means to an end.
