   Body mind and spirit   
      
   The body senses pleasure and pain   
   But these feelings rarely tell the whole truth   
   Sometimes pleasure can lead you the wrong way   
   And sometimes pain helps you grow and learn   
   The body responds instinctively without pause or reason   
   Reaching for comfort and avoiding hurt even when its not the best choice   
      
   The mind gathers what you see and hear   
   But it does more than just notice colors and sounds it interprets them   
   White might appear as black or black as white   
   Because your mind shapes reality through its own lens   
   When someone speaks you don't hear every single sound   
   You grasp the meaning and the message   
   The mind is always at work piecing together the puzzle of the world   
   Seeking to understand and create sense from chaos   
      
   The spirit lives in your breathing   
   The gentle steady rhythm of air flowing in and out   
   When you focus on your breath you become aware of the spirit within you   
   When your attention drifts away, spirit is unseen but steady   
   Spirit knows no pleasure or pain   
   It neither thinks nor judges   
   It simply is a presence beyond all feeling and thought   
      
   So inside us these three parts move and interact   
   The body feels and reacts   
   The mind interprets and understands   
   The spirit simply exists   
   When body mind and spirit find balance   
   We discover a deep and lasting peace
