I don't see a straightforward connection in between the "free will"
and "money" problem, but it's most likely because of
my 0 knowledge/context about your situation and mindset, and all the
   things lead into this situation.

Generally speaking, my approach would be to check the path; like, if you
want to go to the park, and you turn left, turn right, go straight, and
you still can't see the park, but you know other people are there, maybe
you can ask them, how to get there. Unfortunately, those people, who
wants to help, to have any chance to figure out where did you took
the wrong turn, have to know where do you live and all the turns you made,
like google maps, if it doesn't know where are you, where do you want to
go, and which path you take, it can't navigate.

Also, a common trap is to - for some reason - being very confident in a
particular "left turn", so if you took a path, did not reach the
destination, but unable to challenge the decision(s) which did not
lead to where you wanted to be, well, you can still hope that
there's another park, or the desert.
