   The /A switch is not required in that case. e.g.   
      
   E:\1>echo abc > file1   
      
   E:\1>echo xyz > file2   
      
   E:\1>copy file1+file2 newfile   
   file1   
   file2   
           1 file(s) copied.   
      
   E:\1>type newfile   
   abc   
   xyz   
      
   In fact, without the /B switch, the resulting file of file concatenation   
   will have  marker appended, even though none of the source file has it.
