   Probably because writing simple batch programs is easy and still useful   
   in Windows but the elaborate "clever" stuff we used to love is now   
   pointless. Windows provides easier and better alternatives. Attempting   
   to use real MSDOS as an everyday OS is only for the serious masochist.
