   I attribute it to the rapidly-approaching death of Usenet. Most of my   
   subscribed groups went silent some time ago. One that I've been a member of   
   for more than 20 years finally died just late last year... as did its last   
   "old time" member, I believe. (Hard to verify without breaking anonymity.)
