ideal in this case, I have looked at various places in control panel, right
clicking on the display and have yet to determine how to achieve the darker
   colored windows for all.
   Can you help??

This is the wrong group to ask/solve this request but here goes.

The "Display" applet in control panel is the correct applet,
unfortunately, exact tab names and button names/locations vary by
Windows version (which you failed to mention). Keep exploring and you
will eventually find the "Advanced Appearance" dialog. In this dialog
you must select the "Item" that you want to modify. In this case, you
want to choose "Window" then you choose a new color for that item. Press
   "OK" to keep the changes.

If you still can not find this window discribed, use a search engine.
This question has been asked and answered many times over the years and
you should no doubt be able to locate a set-by-step instruction related
   to your Windows version.
