   Hi Foxidrive,   
      
   You made the mistake of trying to solve a larger problem that   
   I did not request information about.  You made this mistake because   
   you are I nice guy with a lot of knowledge and you jumped in to   
   help me.  You don't even know me and you wanted to help anyway.   
   That was not lost on me.   
      
   My actual problem was trying to figure out the syntax of "xxx < com1".   
   I was/am frustrated as I know I have done this before and just forgot.

   The cable and the new card are working fine.  I tested it by hooking   
   it to a led display on a loop back and then hooking it up to the   
   CNC machine.  The customer did not even manage to damage anything   
   by removing the RJ45 cable out of the RJ45 to DB9 adapter and   
   plugging it into his Ethernet port.  (Chuckle)
