   Truecrypt and then Veracrypt have a CLI (command line interface).  I   
   don't bother with encrypting volumes.  Since I create encrypted   
   containers, the drive can hold both unencrypted and encrypted files, and   
   I'm not stuck with a volume that gets screwed up and takes all files   
   with it.
