All's I know is that it started for me in January of '64 when I got home
from the Navy and found my brother already immersed with a banjo playing nut
up the Chapman Dam road a couple miles. We did see Flatt 'n Scruggs about
1959 at the Youngsville, PA Fair but it took a few years to sink in.

All three of us brothers - and a brother-in-law who's now an ex- have been
pickin' ever since. I did finally buy a music stand and printed out a bunch
of the tunes I'm currently doin' since my memory fails me at times. It's
tough performing in front of a bunch of pickers. They'll let you know if you
blow a line or leave out a verse!
