From: BoFrazer@cfl.rr.com              I know just what you mean. There's something WRONG about staffing the band       with the best that money can buy, to where there are 8 or 10 people on the       stage. I have this same issue when I see Dolly Parton these days. When       Ricky was with Boone Creek or that amazing incarnation of JD Crowe and the       New South, the sound from those 4- and 5-piece groups was phenominal, and he       was waaaay my hero. But now, even though there is not an individual picker       I have a problem with (quite the contrary, they are the tops), the overall       vibe is not quite right. Look at Alison Krauss and what she can do with 5       pieces.              Maybe my problem is that I have more admiration for band members that must       both pick AND sing...              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
