   Good question!  I am 56 and never seen one.  As a kid I did notice 2 black   
   blues fiddle players that might have managed it.  One was Sugarcane Harris   
   and the other was Papa John Creech.  I guess they just don't like bluegrass   
   LOL!  Although blues is the same notes and runs, the tempo and timing is   
   vastly different.   
      
   But a while back I cam across a hotdog pedal steel player named Robert   
   Johnson and I never knew a black man even thought about a pedal steel!  So   
   you just can't tell.  He could have played the banjo easily as he had the   
   fingerpicks mastered.   
      
   Maybe they don't like what we have done with old blues songs like "John   
   Henry" or "Pallet on the Floor" or "The Nine Pound Hammer".   
      
   Perhaps someday soon we will be buying albums from "Tyrone and Leroy and the   
   Congo Grass Quintette"
