   Actually Patti,

I have a video of six year old Ricky playing Mandolin on an old Flatt and
Scruggs Pet Milk Show in the late 50's.

At thirteen he and Keith Whitley were playing as a fill in at a Ralph
Stanley concert where Ralph was late due to bus trouble. Old Ralph hired
both of them when he heard them! I remember being at Lavonia, Georgia
playing for Jimmy Martin, and sitting on Ralph's bus talking to Ricky. This
was years before Boone Creek. Maybe a decade. But Mark is right that Boone
Creek is a fine album. You might want to see if you can find a copy of
"Live in Japan" by J.D. Crowe. Lots of fine early Scaggs on that as well.
