I think bluegrass is       at least as good as       > country. How can I find more bluegrass albums in stores? Anyone know       > of any external clues?              Harold, country and southern gospel cannot compete with bluegrass head to       head and they know it! So they avoid direct competition like the plague :)       For example Carl Jackson put out an album, a tribute to the Louvin Brothers       called Livin Lovin Louvin. The title cut is "Cash on the Barrel Head".       Anyone who has heard it knows that it would be impossible to play it on the       radio and then follow it with "Garth". Even the old country masters like       "George" would sound three days dead in comparison. The corporations do not       like bluegrass, it cuts into their monopoly.              Get to know the bands you like and buy their albums on ebay. Easiest way to       get good grass, or pick them up at concerts and festivals. For me it is the       older stuff. I can't get away from the sounds of Jimmy Martin, Seldom       Scene, The Country Gentlemen, and Skaggs. For you it may be others.              Mitch              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
