Oh Bull Crap! music huh? Bach was the musician because he wrote the music!
Violinists are mere human juke boxes. 99% of them can only play what
somebody else has already written. They are not taught to play what they
have never heard before directly from their mind. Most cannot play by ear
   at all.

Go get me ten at random and have them rosin up and climb in the average "Jam
session" and lets see who is the musician!

Even Izthak Perlman when recording with Johnny Gimbal had to be tutored like
a school child just to make it through the recording session!!!!!

Being able to memorize a few complicated passages is great, but it leaves
you paralized if you can't form and play new melodies instantly or with your
   "Will".

Perlman is the master of a few pieces of music. There is no doubt. BUT,
you ever heard Stephane Grappelli? Perlman ain't gonna rosin it up and go
head to head with Grappelli! He ain't that stupid :) Get Perlman off his
narrow band of songs and he is lost as an easter egg. Grappelli, like Bach,
   is universes ahead. Nuff Said.
