From: bogul@nospambog.net              I've converted a few, my son included(13) who loves the stuff and thinks       that most of the stuff his peers listen to is crap.              But, it was at a festival where it all came together.              I look around and see young bluegrass/roots bands forming, so it's not as       if it's only seniors playing. I think the last several years, with the       slow decline of country music to the point where it's practically rock       being played in jean and cowboy hats has given rise to much of this.              And I see musicians playing bluegrass instruments but not necessarily       playing bluegrass inspiring younger musicians to take up these       instruments. At all adds up to more potential players and listeners to       the bluegrass scene as a whole.              I'm not so much concerned with the ethnicity of those who listen ... nor       really their age. But a wider selection of music types and venues is       always a plus. An all black or hispanic or asian bluegrass band would be       a cool thing, maybe put a new twist on the music. But we can't wait       around for it nor try to manufacture it. If it happens, it happens.                     B                     Ron Capik |
