Bill could be somewhat, shall we say opinionated, at times :) I remember
once that Glen Dunn and I happened to run into him outside of Tootsie's and
he actually invited us accross the street to Limebaughs and bought us
   lunch!!!! Who knew ;)

Then again him and Bobby Osborne had differences for years over Bill not
letting them bring "electric" instruments to Bean Blossom. I believe I
heard that Bobby told him that if he would leave his pick at home, he would
   leave his amp at home.

In 1961 though, Flat and Scruggs were doing 6 and 7 days a week Driving all
over the south doing Martha White radio shows and Pet milk shows. It wasn't
unusual for them to do 3 different shows in 3 different cities in one day!
You had to actually be at the radio station then. Nashville at daylight,
Birmingham at noon, and Atlanta at 6, then back to Nashville to start
   again!!!

There was not a lot of love back then between the boys and Bill and my guess
is that they had other obligations they considered a lot more important than
   huggie feelie with Bill :)

   Just a guess,
