Somehow Joe your missing the point. A fair to middling bluegrass guitar
player plays by ear. he needs no book nor does he memorize the chord
changes. He "feels" them and knows where to go on most all songs. Put on
Sirius bluegrass and play until you can hear the chord changes and know
where they are transitioning to. Even the "off" chords will come to you
easier after enough practise. Hard to replace practise, it doesn't come
   instantly in a book.
