Take off       >your rose colored glasses!       >       >              In an earlier post, I allowed for the possibility that you were joking       about your crack at bluegrass guitarists "beating on a guitar instead of       playing it". Sounds like you're saying you WERE joking. OK, then.... not       much harm, and not TOO foul...:)              I notice that the OP cross-posted their question on alt.music.bluegrass       and ALSO on rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic, which is where a lot of       the recent harsh critiques of your post came from. Folks on the       bluegrass group probably know you, know your experience, and know your       sense of humor ... RMMGA'ers on this group DON'T have that prior       familiarity.              This is one of the MANY problems with cross-posting, and why folks       discourage it. (not that the cross-post is your fault!) It sets up a       situation where different people are talking at one another without       knowing enough context to avoid miscommunication.              Oh well... hopefully, it's all settled now, and I confess that I FULLY       understand the unfortunate rep that bluegrass (or ANY music) can get       from exposure to too many free-for-all jamfests. Oh, well....              --       Best regards              Paul              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
