   I have found that my pioneer CD/DVD/write/read drive can sometimes read   
   cd's that are badly damaged (much played Prairie Home Companion jokes   
   and an old Louis Armstrong CD come to mind). I copied them to a hard   
   drive and then made a new CD or MP3 disk from the hard drive.
