From: tpsmith@NOjunoSPAM.com              Howdy folks.       New here so I don't really know where to begin.       Got the bluegrass 'playin' bug. Been a fan a long time. The 'playin' part       is here because I recently was handed down my great uncles fiddle. After       almost 400 dollars in repairs, the luthier offered to give me 1500 dollars       for it. "NO", I said. It's a keeper.       Now I want to learn to play it. Where oh where do I begin? I have looked at       lessons on the internet...free and otherwise. Folk-of-the-wood,       jaybuckey.com, fiddleguru.com, numerous videos/books/cd's/dvd's. whoo! too       much information.       I cant afford a teacher, but don't want to start off on the wrong foot       either, only to have to unlearn bad habits later. There are teachers in my       area, but I can't afford weekly lessons. A one-time purchase of some       materials under/around 50 bucks is my limit right now. What do y'all       suggest?       Thanks       Tom              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
