I'd say the question is what's wrong, on several counts. In the first
place, festival promoters make their own scheduling decisions. In the
second place, they are, at least on some levels, competitors, regardless of
whether their events are held exactly the same dates. In the third, these
are two pretty different kinds of events. And in the fourth, the venues are
almost 1,000 miles apart, and draw the bulk of their respective audiences
from different parts of the country.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of bluegrass festivals presented each
year and only 52 weekends. It's inevitable that festival audiences will
have to make choices about which ones to attend on any given one of those.
