   This Wednesday, May 13, 9--11:30 p.m., at Folk Night at   
   The Ship Pub in St. John's, Newfoundland, the headliners   
   are the duo of Scott Schillereff and Jean Hewson.   
      
   Cover is $5, there are door prizes, there is an open   
   mic set between the two headline sets, and open mic   
   performers get a free beer.  Also the kitchen is open   
   until 8 p.m.

   Scott Schillereff and Jean Hewson started playing together in 2014, but   
   between them, they have decades of experience in folk music performance.   
   A founding member of Atlantic Union, and a thirteen-year veteran of the   
   award-winning traditional band Tickle Harbour, Scott has dazzled   
   audiences across the province with his first-class musicianship on   
   hammered dulcimer, banjo, guitar and voice. Jean is one of   
   Newfoundland's best-known traditional singers and guitar accompanists,   
   and has toured extensively with Christina Smith, the Mahers Bahers, and   
   others. In 2007 she was nominated for Traditional Singer of the Year at   
   the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Scott and Jean's performances are   
   propelled by chocolate, strong coffee, and a shared love of poignant   
   ballads and driving tunes.   
      
   Next week (May 20) the headliner is blues musician Dave Mundy.
