From: lippinoff@u2.hehe              On 14 Feb 2004 20:33:29 -0800, Gary Boole posted this (may be clipped):              >The Trailer Park Boys show had Alex Lifeson on. Loved that episode. I       >recently got to meet Randy, Mr. Lahey, Sarah and Lucy. All nice       >people. The show is shot in Halifax and new episodes are coming in       >April, can't wait. Rush has not been out here to the East Coast of       >Canada since 1987, however Alex was out to shoot that episode of the       >show. If you want to see Rush live pick up the new Rush in Rio Live       >DVD. Its fantastic.              Gosh, either you get up early in the morning or else you don't       sleep! I don't know about you but "Trailer Park Boys" comes on, I       think, at a ridiculous time of three or four o'clock in the "am"       wherever I am. No wonder I've got bloodshot eyes sometimes!       Weren't Alex and a regular on the show taking turns playing the       beginning of "Closer To The Heart" on guitar. That was kinda       neat! I wonder what they did for the "arena" footage and sound.       It probably said in the credits! ;)              ah, yes! RIO... :] See! You haven't seen the band in ages       either!              Do you suppose Rush, in concert, still attempts to remain somewhat       "true" to the studio sound of their music? I seems to me they       didn't stray too far. I guess, though, I'm kind of overstating       that. lol I get carried away in a "rush" sometimes.              It sounds like you had a good time meeting those people. Ya       really got to love the music at the end of "Trailer Park Boys"       too! Wow, is that ever different. It kind of reminded me of       something the Romaniac Brothers recorded on their pre-recorded       cassette (EP) back in the 80s. I'm rockin' ya know? I figured       they were in Halifax. I thought I either heard or saw a few of       them discussing their program in an interview(?) or a news clip(?)       at one time, maybe on CBC but I'm uncertain.              Are those fast moving credits or what?! They go by So fast I miss       them most of the time. I wasn't sure who acted in it so thanks       for helping me out. Just think, I was only channel-surfing and       came across the show by chance. And, I caught the show right at       the beginning. Rarely do I have such luck. Actually, I'd like to       see that episode again. I guess I'd better hope they have       repeats. Oh God, I can't believe I actually said it after       complaining about how terrible TV was. Anyway maybe I'll check to       see if this VCR machine still works just in case. lol              Did you know that there was another band named "Rush" (they were a       British rock band) in existance at the same time the Canadian band       had released/or was about to release their second album "Fly By       Night" in 1974? The British group released their self-titled       debut album "Rush" at around that same time as well. I know this       because a friend of mine (a Frank Zappa fan who'd drive anyone       nuts) bought the album. We used to listen it in his basement!       Then one day, he offered it for one of mine. The thing is, at the       time, I think I only liked one or tune songs, if that, so I wanted       to trade my album for one of his other albums like...ahem, Zappa's       "200 Motels!" No, I did not see opportunity knocking before my       eyes! If I had seen, I would have gladly traded whatever I had       for a soon-to-be rare vinyl album.              So, okay, I knew this was not the Canadian band, but, I could not       have foreseen the world-wide popularity of their music that was       yet to come. I'm kicking myself now of course! That album by the       British band (and the band itself) soon vanished, never to be       heard from again. I'll guess and say that British "Rush" album       might be worth a few bucks to some collector.              Oops! I'd better stop before I really get going. Oh, btw, I saw       O'Brien on NewsWorld last night but I forget the program host's       name...he was in a rock band "Moxy (mumble mumble) something or       other" maybe.              Lurkin' Lippy Lee              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
