XPost: alt.music.s-mclachlan, alt.music.alternative.female, rec.       usic.country.western       From: dalton@nfld.com              Here is a note from my latest post to the              "Garth Brooks in Canada? + Newfoundland country artists"              thread on rec.music.country.western . I though the bit       on Terri Lynn Eddy might be of interest to you.       --------------------------------       One other country performer I forgot is country rock diva       Terri Lynn Eddy. I hadn't heard her live and was thinking       she is blues but I just skimmed her CD recorded five years       ago when I think she was 17 and wow, she has the big       Aretha Franklin type powerful voice even as a teen.        She does (blues/soul/gospel)-tinged country rock and       a few slow country numbers included two penned by       singer/songwriter Dawn Trainor-Thompson (who with       Michelle Myrick and one other woman also used to       do a bit of country) who is best known for her song Madeleine.       Anyway she [TLE] has Janis Joplin potential, major potential       and I hope she plays live near me soon. (Also a bit       similar to Sue Medley but unique.) (I didn't hear her       when she first started out since she was too young to       play bars and I missed her hall show, and she is       from outside St. John's [what town?])              David       http://www.nfld.com/~dalton              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
