   Prepare yourself for an answer filled with untrue statements (i.e.,   
   Nat Hentoff said so), and other tidbits of wisdom (like "It's in the   
   jazz section at record stores.) Anything but a musical reason. Bottom   
   line: The people in the record company and radio station marketing   
   departments coined it as "smooth jazz" and NO other reason.
