   Difficult one, the only thing that springs to mind is William Orbit's   
   "Addagio For Strings", I think the original mix was percussion-free (the   
   radio edit was of course clubbed up).    Chicane's "Saltwater" also springs   
   to mind, there's a slower remix which is 'almost' percussion-free.   
      
   Also, not quite answering your question, but related, the Art Of Trance   
   debut album "Wildlife On One", used a lot of wildlife noises (chirping   
   birds, frogs, etc) as integral parts of the beat & melody... it's a   
   fantastic album... worth checking out.
