The film "Rachel and the Stranger" from 1948 has the tagline "REBEL BRIDE of
a man she never kissed! Pledged to share his home...but not privileged to
claim his love! Until one day...one fateful day...along came a Tall, Dark
   Stranger!"

And the soundtrack includes a song "Tall, Dark Stranger" - Music by Roy
   Webb, Lyrics by Waldo Salt.
   So I'd start with that.
