I imagine expensive       music rights are to blame for another song being substituted as the theme. If       you remember "Bosom Buddies," you'll know the theme during the original airing       was the Billy Joel        song. I've seen the show since with a different tune as the theme. I believe       that one was just an instrumental. I've seen some cheap DVD sets of "The Andy       Griffith Show" which feature a different theme. Music rights can be very       expensive. "WKRP" used        lots of music of the day. When it came time to produce the DVD sets, it was       found that some of the original music was unaffordable. New music was       inserted, with voiceover artists imitating the actors. If you remember the       scene with Les Nessman putting on        the wig, that was originally backed with the "Hot Blooded" song.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
