Simple reason. I was in a working / traveling band.              So far, I'm happy with 3 effects, but could always increase that number ;)              > Back in the day, we traveled in vans, and so were limited in what we could       > carry. That's great.              How many effects did you prefer to have?              > I often think of using no effects at all on my guitar.              Until relatively recently, I played without effects, but my Casio CDP-130       has a decent Rhodes and Wurli selection - that doesn't have tremolo, and       electric pianos should have tremolos, so one of my pedals is a tremolo -       sounds interesting on the grand piano too, as does the phase shifter, and       the overdrive distortion pedal sounds cool with the electric pianos,       particularly the Wurlitzer, but I'll use it on the grand piano too, so long       as it's an interesting sound.              > Think I'll just focus on playing and singing rather than finding some       > magical new effect.
