We're doing the job.              > Try your logic with any other business, see how it goes. Paid by some set       > rate per worked is a union mindset. Long since obsolete.              I'm not even suggesting 'union scale' - unions are Corrupt anyway, and       Quality of life that may have once been their reason for their existence       has long since been made obsolete by OverBreeding!              Rather, I'm suggesting the possiblity of providing an incentive to always       be hired to play there. Otherwise, competition could result.              > On this same topic, band girl was telling me about some band leader she       > use to work for who, when he hired new players, he privately ask them what       > they wanted to do the job. Whatever he said is what he paid them. No one       > got the same money.              Not being into the Root of ALL Evil, i.e. Filthy Lucre Not being an Idol       to me, I'd honestly answer that all I'd expect is my Equal portion ;)              > Relate this to Jesus and the parable of the field workers.              Jesus's parable of the laborers in the vineyard.       Matthew 20:1 - 16 A very Powerful Gift Economy message       of Great Wisdom.              The simple synopsis:              The holder of the vineyard, the employer, offers laborers a       mere penny a day to work in his vineyard...and they agree on       those terms...even though they start their work early in the       morning and work a full day. A twelve hour work day is implied.              Three hours later, and the working day now three hours shorter,       the employer hires more laborers only this time, he offers them       "whatsoever is right", and they agree and go off to work, a now       shorter nine hour day.              The employer then does the same thing again, offering "whatsoever       is right" six and nine hours later, now even shorter work days       six hours and three hours respectively.              The employer then goes out once more, eleven hours later, the work       day now only being one hour long, and offers the laborers that they       shall receive "whatsoever is right".              Naturally, being of the Root of ALL Evil mentality, those who worked       longest felt the most cheated, even though they had agreed to the terms of a       penny, a unit, like ALL Filthy Lucer units, of Pretense, Make-Believe,       Illusion, and even Deception, per day, because they scorned the gift economy       mentality, in which the focus is on giving rather than taking.              But the key to not only understanding but actually Appreciating this       parable is in the very first verse where Jesus states that THE KINGDOM       OF HEAVEN IS LIKE UNTO (the above parable) and God's Kingdom is a gift       economy - there is No reference to God *ever* having sold anything to       anyone - He is a Giver! And He has only bought Once, NOT with Filthy       Lucre, but with BLOOD...our Salvation!!!              > Or a band I saw once is Mexico :-)              Oversized Mexican band? I didn't know they got paid so well ;)              > You live in a fantasy world.              Because I don't believe in 'spare' performers? ;)              > If one guy can roof my house in the same time as a crew of a dozen, he       > deserves more money.              Probably not with regards to time though ;)              > We are. So maybe we'll learn to take the work that pays more, let the       > other slide.              But will you enjoy it more?              > Light rain today. Needed it. Band rehearsal in about an hour. All four.       > Oh, boy.                     Jim              At least you're not trying to learn stuff by Yngwie Malmsteen!              Ouisie              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
