I don't ever recall seeing a solid state version of the Twin that actually
   looked like the tube version.

So many Zombies, and they don't notice much of anything...as for the smart
ones, well that's the way it is with the smart of any generation...and there
were many more of them from our time...and still there's all these nearly
deaf musicians...I tend to believe that there will be even more deaf Zombies
in the future - some 'future' ;)

That tube technology was used exclusively because there was nothing to
exclude - because solid state technology was either not yet available, or
was not yet refined, or affordable...but once it was, it totally blew the
vacuum tube equipment away...on power, cleanness, reliability, durability,
   and affordability, and portability.

   > Ah, but then they will argue that it's the tube OUTPUT section that is the

Not the output *section*, Only the Output, which means that a tube effect
can be used through an ultra clean solid state amp with amazing
results...and no one will ever know if they can't see the equipment ;)

   > You weren't moving that tube amp around with a working band.

No, it stayed put on our test console, mounted at the very top for best
   ventilation, and cooling.

   > That really changes the game. Hot / cold, damp, dropped, on and off and

They may weigh like a tank but they're not built like one - they're
fragile...all that glass, and plug-in pins and sockets - lots of things to be
subject to bad connections. Got to be extra careful with tube circuits.

That's not nice to hear! I thought Line6 had Integrity! If their name is on
it, they should support it, at very least to the best of their
ability...because I have a discontinued device of theirs too...a Tone Core
series Roto Machine, Leslie simulator - sounds pretty awesome, and doesn't
require upgrades. But in any case, if I ever get something else from Line6,
I'll have to check on whether it may need support...because to my great
disappointment, Meade Instruments is the same way. I found out about it when
I was given a small Autostar equipped 2" reflecting telescope and discovered
that Meade would not stand by a product bearing their Name. They tried to
give me some Lame BS 'excuse' that they didn't manufacture it, but only put
their name on it...which means to me that they Endorse it as being Worthy of
their name and therefore just as high in quality as if they had made it,
which means that they should stand by it...because if they won't, then I
   won't stand by them either!!!

And to think that my "dream 'scope", one of them anyway ;) *was* - Past
tense, the 8" Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain - THEY sure Killed that dream!

In other words, it's an Inferior mic, and that's what I've heard about it -
but it's not bad, just not great, it's also not extremely expensive, but is
extremely durable...besides, who aspires to be a Pro? Not very many of us,
   that's for sure!
