It's a simple analogy, that ANY sensory capability that's Attenuated, will
Greatly Diminish if not Totally Eliminate the ability to Effectively use it!

   > the take away for me was the statement that some musicians play loud

That's the message I got too...but WHY would anyone want to Deliberately
enDanger the one and only sensory system they Need to be functioning
properly to Effectively enjoy the stimuli, in this case audio, and
   specifically Music???

   > The " why " would be because they think it'll work on me.

I meant their Motive for the "Gaslighting" - what they're hoping to achieve
   by doing it.

Almost worthy of coming out to play ;)

   > I have a duo and a solo this week, then another full band job on the

To ponder what? How things seem to be getting better? How much more work
there is to do before things Really get better? ;)

   > On a totally different track, I was offered a gig next week, a sort of

   > the third guy ? Um .. .. don't have a clue. Could be a pro, or maybe
   > something less serious.

A cutting contest? I'll have Nothing to Ever do with that...it's such a
   Bummer!

   > How good could he be ? I mean acoustic guitar and voice only goes so
   > far. So, if it comes to it that I do the gig, .... wonder what I'd sing.
   > Dunno. Over the night I'd need 15 tunes. Do I know 15 hipster songs that
   > I can do on acoustic guitar ? Probably not off the tip of my tongue.
   > Maybe 5 or 6. I know hundreds of tunes I could do that way, but not what

Do have all the details yet are there still some missing?

   > What I am good at is reading an audience. And I have the lyrics to lots

   > it's a paying thing ), then I'll sort out 15, go and enjoy the challenge.
   > Yeah, I think it'd be worth a go.

Challenge? Who can enjoy that? That's what practice and rehearsal is for, to
   Overcome the challenge!!!

   > isn't it ?

   JimD

Speaking of busy, that Black Mountain Rag is kind of mellow ;) Not quite the
Flatt & Scruggs energy level ;)
