   I'd really like to get an SPL meter so I can start showing the Idiots that

   Speakers are Always powered by amps, and Self-CONTAINED cabs, with both the   
   speaker  and amp inside is as far as that can go. But I was referring to the   
   L1 system, which does use an 'external' amp.

   Got to get a voltage reading across the speaker terminals in order to know   
   how much power they are actually dissipating.

   Bose-O hypes their L1 as precisely that, an 'FOH' of sorts and a stage

   Maybe the right size might help but it's the insert part that really gets to   
   me rather quickly.   
      
   I'll still keep trying them but that sensation is something I need to   
   somehow eliminate, or reduce enough to tolerate them.

   Maybe I should go to Guitar Center and ask them if they have any IEMs that   
   might be tolerable - can't hurt to ask.

   I Love the idea of having the monitor in such near field proximity, but the   
   sensation of having things stuck in my ears is where my problem is.

   They will *have to* fit in such a way is to produce as close to zero   
   pressure in my ear canals as possible.
