   Compressed air is what's used for sandblasting and even one tiny piece of   
   anything abrasive caught in a high pressure stream of air would be bad news   
   for a precision optical surface.   
      
   It' easier and safer to simply lay a soft cloth on the mirror without moving   
   it, let it absorb any water, then just carefully lift it off.   
   As if the optical surface of the glass isn't sensitive enough, the coating   
   applied to it is even more sensitive.

   Dawn or a generic version - like Wal Mart has, is both mild and an excellent   
   degreaser and leaves the surface 'squeaky clean', which is why I use it on   
   dirty CDs.
